    3. Marriage in St. Mary, Magdalene, Thorrington   George Aldham Susannah Bacon Okeley both single and of the parish by licence 20th May, 1812 witnesses John Barrington John Cole     --- On Sun, 3/2/13, Bruce Peeke <brucerpeeke@tiscali.co.uk> wrote: From: Bruce Peeke <brucerpeeke@tiscali.co.uk> Subject: [Ess] George ALDHAM 1792-1873 To: essex-uk@rootsweb.com Date: Sunday, 3 February, 2013, 13:14 George and Susanna ALDHAM had two children baptised in Frating, Essex, in 1817 and 1818.  George and Elizabeth Higham ALDHAM had one child baptised in Wickham in 1822, another in Langford in 1826 and three more in Ulting in 1828, 1833 and 1835. I believe George in each case to be the George ALDHAM baptised in Ulting in 1792 but have been unable to find any marriage, either to Susanna or Elizabeth, nor a death for a Susanna ALDHAM between 1818 and 1822.  Elizabeth Higham HUMPHREYS was baptised in White Notley in 1797. I do not know Essex so do not know which other parishes might be close to those mentioned in order to search SEAX, which is where I have got what information that I have. Any suggestions would be appreciated. 3. I never thanked you properly for the marriage of my George ALDHAM in Thorrington so do so now. But could you give me any more details of the “Susannah Aldham born and buried 1816 in Thorrington, the parish record says she came from Colchester” which you also gave me. I searched the baptisms up to 1830 in Frating and Thorrington and in the surrounding parishes for any more children of George and Susannah and after finding none decided to do the same in Colchester because you mentioned it. After going down through the long list of parishes in SEAX I eventually discovered “Elizabeth daughter of George and Susannah Aldham of St James, father late farmer” on 2 Aug 1821 in St James, but nothing else. My SEAX subscription then expired! Before deciding whether to take out another subscription I’m trying to decide what to look for next and where. Nothing so far helps to find George’s parents. I’m also trying to decide whether “late” farmer means “former” or “deceased”. Any suggestions welcomed.
