Hello list! Does anyone have any ideas on whether the name "Dudley" might be a short form or nickname of something else? I have a picture from circa 1915 that clearly says greetings from Dudley Jayne.....There is some connection to Thurstans of Ilford. Jayne is the maiden name of Thurstans' wife but I cannot find any reference to Dudley in any research done on Jayne or Thurstans family. A search of census etc has come up empty. I would say this fellow was in his 20's at the time the picture was taken. Any thoughts?
