Another trick - maybe everyone has already found this? - is to sort the list of search results on the "Place" column... It sorts on the underlying address where they're living (even though it isn't actually displayed when you do the free search) so it puts together all the people of the same surname at the same address - you can often get the basic details of names/ages for everyone in the family without paying to look at the census page... keep that for when you take out a subscription for a month!
