In the 1861 census, the words Chelsea Pensioner are followed by 5 Royal and another word which is hard to make out, but another lister thought it looks like "Vetrans" sic. Doing a search on the net, it looks like the 5th Royal Veterans Battalion was in existence around 1810. I'm hoping SKS could look up Thomas OSBORNE for me, and tell me the details.
