Good morning, I have an aunt, Diana Julie Stow born Q1 1924, Malden, 4a - 1282. Last know to me in the late 1950's early 60s, when she supposedly died of cancer. She lived in Tollesbury and joined the Land Army in WW2. Then the mystery begins. I have photos of her wedding taken in front of a church door, with my late father her brother present in RAF uniform. Knowing his service was most mostly overseas until the end of the war, dates the wedding circa '44 / '45. My father was demobbed late 45. Another rellie in Oz has been searching the BMD's on line, through Ancestry, and cannot find a wedding recorded at any time or place. Under her married name, which I believe to be Curtis, she had 2 sons Colin and Martin born between '46 and '50, but again there are no records of either birth. Even more mysterious is that we cannot find any record of her death. She would seem to have disappeared. Does anyone know if the BMDs on Ancestry are totally complete or might there have been a few transcription losses? Of course my memory might be incorrect (I was just a lad) and the married name might not be Curtis, hence the reason why we cannot find the boys births or Dianas death, but there should be a record of the wedding in the name of Stow somewhere. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated but please take into consideration that I don't live in the UK but S. France so my doing actual look ups of records is impossible. Regards, Mick.
