Having read your interesting entry I am sending you under separate cover two lists, one is for casualties from the 44th Foot at the Battle of Alma on 20th September 1854, the other is of recruits for the Royal Essex Rifles, which non-regular regiment often fed the 44th and 56th Foot at the time of the Crimea.
