    3. Peter, I wonder if you might be able to answer the following query. One of my 3 x great grandmothers, Elizabeth Cook, stated on the censuses that she was born in Burnham, Essex some time between 1785-1791. I had a look at the original St Mary's Burnham OC register when the church had a heritage open day last year, but Elizabeth's baptism wasn't shown. My guess is that she was therefore either NC or was actually born in one of the smaller, more obscure Dengie penisular/hundred parishes but gave the enumerator the, more recognisable, name of the nearest town. Would that be a good guess, do you think, and would any of the Dengie parishes be a more likely candidate to begin the search for Elizabeth's baptism? Thanks for any advice you might be able to give.
