Gordon Ambrose is also there in 1906 & 1902, but in 1899 it is Frederick Ambrose whom is listed as a photographer at this address. By 1912 there is no listing of either, although a Gordon runs a motor accessories shop. This may help you to put an approximate date on your photo. I stand to be corrected but I believe that at this time photographers often doubled up with other jobs to make a living in small towns. Around this period I have come across references to a Gordon Ambrose as a sweet shop owner and as an early motor spares dealer so he may have lived a double life and photogarpshed as a sideline. Ambrose is a local family name - I have quite a few in my person index of names from this area. If there are any buildings or identifying features etc on the Ambrose photo if you want to e mail it to me off line I will try and identify the location for you.
