Hi List Can someone please help me. JOHN BROWN HOLDEN was born in COLCHESTER England 1822-1827. On his marriage certificate in 1874 he lists himself as a WIDOWER aged 47 years. Father William Holden Mother Susan (no surname given). Fathers Occupation Publican. Religion Church of England. On John Brown Holden's death cert his son stated he had been in NEW SOUTH WALES AUSTRALIA for 39 years. I can find nothing on JOHN BROWN HOLDEN prior to 1854 in Australia. I can't find his emigration he was possibly married when he emigrated. Does anyone know anything at all of this family? I live in Australia and have not done any international research before so I am flying blind. Is there such a thing as a registry of publicans maybe? Or can anyone help me with some websites which may be helpful? I would really appreciate any suggestions or help. Thank you Joy
