    3. Family Search more than anyone else helped to bring family history searching to the internet. In the past their web site has held a vast amount of information but the page display was very basic and searching could be confusing, especially for beginners, which could mean missed results. Whilst many of the postings are right in that there is little new information Family Search should be congratulated on a very nice new interface and much clearer displays of the information that could be searched. There is also little doubt that they wish to expand on their information but in the commercial world in which we live I doubt that any of the big information holders will give it to them for free. Earlier this month Shirley highlighted the improved local information relating to Walthamstow so there is new free stuff being loaded. The search is certainly free for the 1841 and 1861 census's although to get full information there is a charge. This is still an important service for those people who are not able to subscribe to ancestry etc. There is a feedback form on the pilot site, so those people with criticism or observations can make their point to family search and who knows they might see site development that they would like. If they get a number of requests for more essex uk info then Family Search may even prioritise our area of interest.
