it appears that there has been some sort of miscommunications between a researcher and I, as my Lawford Richards do not exist. several years ago, a man on this list did some research for me at the Essex RO. he claimed to have found certain records in Lawford regarding two generations of Hezekiah Richards. I asked him for his basic sources so that I could continue the research, but he did not reply, and no further emails were replied to, although none of mine bounced back to me. I have since completely lost contact with him, having gone through at least two computers since then. last month I contacted the ESFH and requested they check the Lawford PR's, and today they returned comment to me saying there are no Richards in either Lawford or Manningtree PR's. so out 12BPS and not a little perplexed, I turn to the list in a plea to help me find my ancestress, and her probable cousin, Hezekiah Richards, prior to their seperate marriages. neither of them come up in the IGI prior to the marriages, so I am at a loss where to turn. I am aware of how few Essex people are in the IGI. Elizabeth Richards (of the Quaker faith by 1779) b. abt 1758 m. 28 Jun 1778 St. Nicholas, Colchester Hezekiah Richards (pf the Wesleyan Methodist faith by 1813) b. abt 1791 m. 23 Jul 1808 Holy Trinity, Colchester it is just their birth/christening I am after, and the names of their parents, and the sources so that I can follow through from there. but at this time I simply cannot tell which direction to go in, as the one I was told is not correct. I assime that they came from non-conformist faiths, but that may be incorrect, so a check of what ever Anglican pr records you have at hand would be greatly appreciated. oh, I was told that Hezekiah's parents were Hezekiah Richards and Ann Harris, but I don't know how accurate that is. I have no inkling who Elizabeth's parents were. many thanks for any breakthrough's in this very elusive pair. Cornelia
