Here are the last Essex strays from St Benet's in the period 1700-1754 after which the Hardwick Marriage Act largely put paid to clandestine marriages - there are a few Essex strays in the parish after 1754, so I will post those later or put them on my strays website when I get round to updating it. If anyone knows of Scots who settled in Essex in the period 1660-1750, I'd dearly like to hear of them, especially if they were chapmen, dealers or merchants in the lace or linen trades.
