    3. HI Peter, I agree with all you say about the benefits of the familysearch site, I have used the IGI since it first became available at the site and have found it invaluable in helping me find my Smith family roots in the North East of England. I also use the LDS catalogue to search for films of PRs and other records so that I can further track my family roots. I am one of the lucky ones who has roots in the Diocese of the Bishop of Durham where many of the BTs for that Diocese are already on the pilot site. I have found those BTs to be very useful and they save me long boring train rides to and from Barcelona, where my nearest LDS centre is situated. This makes me more grateful than ever that the LDS has such a wonderful website and are improving on it all the time. Being able to view the BTs for various County Durham Parishes on the pilot site has filled in gaps in the research that I have done using LDS films, where a span of years were perhaps missing from a film, or I have discovered a new surname in my tree since viewing a particular set of PRs on film at the LDS. One way to help get the Pilot site loaded more quickly with all that the LDS intend putting on the site is to volunteer to help with the indexing. There is a very obvious link to becoming an indexer on the home page of the Pilot site. The more of us that volunteer to help the sooner the records we want to view will become available at the site. I intend volunteering in the very near future once I have fully recovered from the broken wrist I suffered a couple of months ago and am able to type for longer periods at a time. In the past their web site has held a vast amount of information but the page display was very basic and searching could be confusing, especially for beginners, which could mean missed results. There is also little doubt that they wish to expand on their information but in the commercial world in which we live I doubt that any of the big information holders will give it to them for free. There is a feedback form on the pilot site, so those people with criticism or observations can make their point to family search and who knows they might see site development that they would like. If they get a number of requests for more essex uk info then Family Search may even prioritise our area of interest.>>
