I have a WILLIAM JUNIPER, born about 1756, who, with his wife Sarah had children baptised at St. Saviour's, Southwark named Mary, James Sarah and John, and possibly Joseph and Elizabeth, and seems to have close connections with a Humphrey and Richard. I do not know where he married Sarah or where he himself was born/baptised. He died in 1812 and was buried in Sutton, Surrey ,where a Richard Juniper also was buried. I have no way of connecting him with the William Juniper born in Great Bardfield but find it interesting that the same names recurr in both families and wonder if there might be a family connection. My William Juniper was a smith of the Honorable Board of Ordnance and I was thinking there might be something in Board of Ordnance or Guildhall or Worshipful Company records to indicate his place of birth but haven't found anything yet. Evidently smiths gravitated to London from all over the country in the eighteenth century, so much so that they could not be compelled to join the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths. I would love to be able to connect him to the William born in 1755 in Great Bardfield/Bardfield Saling,Essex but until I come across some reference saying that William is the one who became a smith in Southwark I am afraid it is pure speculation. I am also missing the marriage of William and Sarah. If anyone has any information on the children of James Juniper and Mary Smith of Bardfield Saling and what happened to them I would appreciate it. I did find this message in the archives and will be trying to contact June by separate email. Thanks for any suggestions and information.
