Spot on Dinah, it is listed near to the Green Gate, which was in Plaistow - see : http://londonpublichouse.com/essexpubs/Plaistow/plaistow.shtml But the Prince Regent was in Custom House, which is the Canning Town area. These were all part of the West Ham parish at that time, and as the area was massively built upon, distinct districts became identifiable, e.g. Plaistow, Canning Town, Silvertown, West Ham, Stratford Langthorne, etc. Here is the later Prince Regent in Canning Town, and other Pubs, but I have yet to list the original Prince Regent. http://londonpublichouse.com/essexpubs/CanningTown/canningtown.shtml Finally, the Prince Regent was not listed in the 1839 Pigot's directory, not sure why; nor the 1848 White's as it had been demolished by this time. In 1841 when my gt gt grandparents Thomas and Margaret Henderson were living there it was in Essex. The census ref is HO 107/8/71 page 16. They later moved to Surrey and then to Australia in 1853. Any history of the area of West Ham would be appreciated.
