Hello John, There are quite a number of family trees for this couple on Ancestry.com. One of the tree owners has Samuel and Mary Ann Linzell having one child Ann born 1819 - she married Joseph Tassell. But the owner has put that Mary Ann had 7 other children - father unknown - born either side of Ann. This might be wrong, don't know. Another tree owner has Mary Ann Linzell and Samuel Dye marrying on 23 Oct 1813 at Aveley, Essex. They list 6 children detailing marriages and their children for 3 of them - one of them goes off to Australia. There are about 5 other trees and they all say that Mary Ann and Samuel Dye had all the children. They give full details of censuses and births and deaths. Have you got access to Ancestry? To which person is your wife descendant - I can send you the details then. Otherwise there is a lot to copy out. Regards Diana Regarding: I have an ancestor of my wife who I think was born Stifford about 1786. The information is not well documented and I am wondering how to proceed. Person in question is Mary Ann LINZELL who I think married Samuel DYE in Essex in Oct 1813, but again the information is not documented. I suspect that the marriage would be in Stifford. The family moved to Cambridgeshire at some time before 1841, so my usual information sources are not helping. As far as I can tell there is no Online Parish Clerk for Stifford. Can anyone suggest where I should look next? ==John ffitch
