Alannah, My PC went down before I could reply to your message regarding the address given on Rose's death certificate: Tilegate House, Harlow. Now I'm back online I can tell you about the amazing coincidence regarding that address. I know Tilegate House very well. It's a warden assisted dwelling I pass every day on my way to my office, and is comprised of a group of flats where senior citizens with health problems minor enough for them to live independent lives, but severe enough that might sometimes need a warden's assistance, live. I'll take a photograph for you if you'd like one. The amazing coincidence is that my mother was the warden of Tilegate House until the late 1980s and I have one, possibly two photographs of her with the TH residents. If your Rose Wilkins lived at Tilegate House during my mother's period there, and she may have done. Then she is almost cetainly among the residents shown in my photograph/s. I'm sure I remember my mother mentioning a resident who was named Miss Wilkins too, and if she's the small, dark haire woman I seem to recall, I met her a few times. When you first mentioned Rose's name, I'd completely forgotten about the Miss Wilkins I'd met - I met so many of my mother's residents over the years. It was only when you emailed me that she'd lived at Tilegate House that the penny dropped. Unfortunately, I don't know the names of the Tilegate House residents in my photograph/s. However, I do know the woman who took over as the warden of Tilegate House when my mother retired - she was still there when Rose was there and at time of Rose's death in 1991, so she would certainly have known Rose and may have her own photos of her. This former warden is married to a former staff member of mine, so I hope to be able to contact her to ask her if she can identify Miss Wilkins in my picture/s and if she would be willing for you to email her for details of Rose. How about all of that for a coincidence! Colleen I realize that this is only a 'long shot' but I wonder if anyone might have known Rose Amelia Wilkins who died at the age of 83 yrs in Harlow in 1991.
