    1. Re: [Ess] Missing marriages in Dedham
    2. Hi all, many thanks to everyone who responded to my request but none of them really explains the ommissions. All burials and baptisms seem to be being properly registered during the period so it is not lazyness or lack of interest. There is no evidence of any outside interference and although the vicar 60 years later was repsonsible for 2 parishes there is nothing noted for this earlier period. I can't yet check the Higham PRs as Dedham was on SEAX but Higham is part of Suffolk. Neil > Hi all, > > the PRs for Dedham show only one marriage registered between 1668 and > 1681. Is anyone aware why this is the case? The Register states that after 1733 there are few marriages because on the Vicar was also Vicar at Higham and Langham but nothing is mentioned for this period. > > Many thanks in advance. > > Neil Bowers > > Researching PRATT, STRANGE, CROSS, OSBOURNE, SURREY, JENNINGS all Dedham >
