Does anyone know what is happening with the new service? It seems the launch date keeps moving further into the future. If I remember correctly I thought it was due to launch today (24th October, 2011) but now the website states the following with no launch date noted - "Essex Record Office will shortly be launching Essex Ancestors, a new online service giving unlimited access to Essex parish registers and wills. Use of Essex Ancestors will be subject to payment of a subscription for a chosen period ranging from one day to one year. Access to this online resource will be free in the Essex Record Office searchroom. Seax will be unavailable from 8 a.m. (BST) on launch day for approximately one hour." Cheers Karen

I queried the ERO about this and just received the following response - " We apologize for the delay in launching the new system. It has taken longer than expected to sort out some technical issues. There is now no formal launch date, but we still expect to go live within a few weeks: the most likely date is 7 November."
