HI Bruce, Do you know Mary Thomas' maiden name, perhaps that is given on her death certificate. If you do know the maiden name then you might be able to look for children's births in the GRO index of births looking for the birth of Thomas children with that mothers maiden name shown in the entry. That might be a starting point for finding children of the couple. Where in the Colchester Registration District did Mary die, what town is given in the address at which she died? Who registered the death, the informant, and what relationship, if any, is given for that person to Mary? Or does it just say Present at Death? I found a marriage on the FreeBMD site that might be a possible for your couple if you don't already have their marriage. Reference- Marriages June Qtr. 1912 Newport M(onmouthshire), registration district volume 11a page 385 Mary E. Thomas & Arthur H. Thomas appear on the same reference. Maybe this is what you meant in your Message that the name Mary Eleanor Thomas is her complete maiden name. Looking on the Genuki site pages for Wales I could not find Pontywaun listed under the Towns and parishes in Wales listing but I then searched the Genuk Gazeteer for Pontywaun and found that it is very close to Newport Monmouthshire. If this the marriage of your couple then finding their Thomas children in the GRO index with a mother's maiden name of Thomas too will not be easy but you might be able to refine your search of the index by selecting Newport as the registration district and then getting entries checked for the parents first names.
