Dear List, I received a death notice that indicates the lady died at her daughter's home at 7 Wesley Avenue in Colchester on 22 Aug 1969. The daughter's given name would be Doris. I am trying to determine if she remarried. Does anyone have access to information that would show who lived at the address in that time frame? Thanks Bruce Heath, Ohio
It would appear that Electoral Records for the period are held at the Essex Record Office: http://seax.essexcc.gov.uk/GetPage.asp?ID=33 They do searches for those who can't get there. I lived about a mile from Wesley Road for a few years - but not until the early 1980s. You could try Ancestry's British phone books for the daughter's first/only married surname and see what comes up. If you don't have a sub to Ancestry, let me have the details and I'll have a look Anne South australia Bruce P Barrett wrote: > Dear List, > > I received a death notice that indicates the lady died at her daughter's > home at 7 Wesley Avenue in Colchester on 22 Aug 1969. UK phone books only list last names and initials, never full first names.
