Do you have the marriage date for James Hilton and Hannah Steemson as February 4, 1812? I have also seen Hannah's name as Steinsson and Steinason. Do you have proof of her last name for further research? I have been using the LDS site to connect all the children you mentioned. Thank you!!! I was only aware of Wm., James, John and Thomas before. I started this enquiry looking for the town of Bertrand. I believe I found Hannah (the daughter) Hilton married to Thomas Starr. Four of their children were born in Bertrand, Berrier County, Michigan, so the transcriber of the 1858 letter may have assumed Bertrand was in England. This opens the possibility that James, b. 1787, wound up in the USA also. The Starrs then moved from Michigan to Dunkirk, Chautauqua County, NY, about 1860, right near where her brothers had settled in the 1830s, and had 2 more children there. Did your Esther marry John Futty? Also found Isabella marrying William Blyth January 10, 1820 at ! Holy Trinity, Kingston Upon Hull, Yorks, England. Is this Church of England? Thank you for your helpful replies. Susan Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
