You will find it at www.hat-archive.com It is a site that was originally designed as a genealogical resource and contains a database of names associated with Australian Theatre. It generally seems to cover from about 1870's through to 1950's. Not sure if it will have your lot on there, but certainly could be worth a try. Also good for anyone who has theatrical connections in Australia. These traits have not been carried down however So perhaps Charles was the culprit! The only photo of Charles Coles was Torn up by my mother (grrrrr) on purpose so we'll never know unless we Find long-lost ancestors! Have you any clues as to where I would start Looking for show people or whatever in Australia? Or is it a 'needle in A haystack' situation. Thanks for your input I really appreciate it. He went on to a second > marriage and when he died in 1928 he was living in Culcairn.> Have you considered the possibility that if they were showbiz people They Could have worked and travelled under other names? It also sounds Possible to me that they were Romany gypsies, who are well known for Using different aliases. Charles being a showman and the wife Presumably a crystal-ball-gazing medium, plus the fact that they named One of their daughters Nellie Romany, would seem to point to this Possibility. -- Roy Stockdill Guild of One-Name Studies: www.one-name.org Newbies' Guide to Genealogy & Family History: www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, And that is not being talked about."
