Go to your local library and ask if they have any books on genealogy/family tree and try and read up on a few points. You could start with yourself and your birthdate and that of any brothers and sisters. If you have your parents marriage certificate that would tell you what your father's job was if you don't know it and also your grandfather's job Whatever you do you must make careful notes on every date aand event. Births, Marriages and Deaths are very important. Don't be afraid to ask for help, you are not expected to know it all at one and once you ask people can help you with any problems you might come across.
