Morning Lists I am currently looking after 3 rather lovely postcards all addressed to Miss Hick (Mary). She was obviously an avid collector of a famous actress/singer of the day by the name of Edna May (and quite a beauty too - what I wouldn't give to have hair like hers..... <vbg>). The cards are dated from 1904-1912 and are signed 'mother', 'Ethel' and 'A Mc'. There are 2 addresses mentioned - the 1904/1910 cards were sent to an address in Scarborough and the 1912 went to Whitby. The postmarks are Leeds, Scarborough and the one from 'Mother' came from Whitby ( Nov 1910) as a birthday greeting. The lady who owns these cards is moving house and I 'rescued' them from a pile for disposal. The name HICK has no family meaning to her and as they have prices on them (12p - not d, and 15p) I guess someone in the family bought them for the pictorial content. I am going to ask if I may forward them on to a family member if found - if she would rather I didn't send the originals then I'll scan them and send scans through to anyone who can claim ownership to Mary. Not quite a p.s. but I did a quick look on the 1901 and did find a family of that name where several of the children were born in Whitby and there was a 12 year old Mary - maybe the same family. Who knows? Here's hoping I can reunite? Mandy in Windermere
