Hi Listers, Here are the families I'm researching, earliest first, Robert HILLS abt 1777 place of birth n.k married Sarah (Sally) GIBSON abt 1781 place of birth n/k, they married 1797 St Cuthbert's Darlington. James HILLS b.1808 christened in Sockburn Durham (son of above) married Sarah WILKINSON, date or place n/k, their eldest son George was born abt 1835. Robert HILLS b. 1838 Cockerton (son of James Hills & Sarah Wilkinson ) married Margaret ROBSON b. 1843 Barnard Castlle - they married 1868 - Stokesly reg. district. James Robson HILLS (son of Robert Hills & Margaret Robson)born 1869 Hemlington married Charlotte WALLS b.1871 Castleleavington, they married 1898 in Northallerton. Richard Blackburn HILLS b. 1906 Brompton, Northallerton married Jane (Jenny) Owen b. Clydach, Swansea, they married 1926 in Pontardawe. Richard Blackburn HILLS is my husband's grandfather, his mother Charlotte Walls died abt. 1911, his father (James Robson Hills) married Dorothy HABERFIELD in Northallerton abt. 1916, they had a son Fredrerick HILLS and later moved to Pontardawe Swansea. I am not sure if Richard Blackburn Hills moved with them or at a later date. Richard Blackburn HILL's middle name is the maiden name of his grandmother Mary BLACKBURN.
