Hi, I have every faith in Ancestry.co.uk however, you cannot access all the American data from this. So depending on what you want to research You have two options. If you take out their world-wide subscription then you can check all sites or just Ancestry.com which cover the American Sites. If you are just researching in England then Ancestry.co.uk will do fine. If you have a lot of research to do then I think the subscription is justified to which ever suits you. If you only want a little then as long as you can print out the census or other sheets that you want, then you can do it for peanuts, so to speak, at the local library. Hi folks, I think it is worth pointing out that some records (particularly the census transcriptions) are not necessarily accurate. I have carefully transcribed (and checked some) of the ones in Lincolnshire for Freecen and there are some obvious errors in the corresponding 'mass' transcribed Ancestry and other 'pay to view' records. Transcriptions are an invaluable resource but remember to take account of mistranscribed surnames, etc. I personally couldn't find a particular family in my tree, until I recognised that a family living in a hotel (they had just returned from Ireland) with the surname "Pinkinson" in the Piece I was transcribing matched up perfectly with the details I already had from other censuses regarding my "Jenkinson" family. I did transcribe it 'as is' but left a note as to the correct spelling. Cheers, Dave > Hi, > > I have every faith in Ancestry.co.uk however, you cannot access all the > American data from this.
