Ann this is the site for the Archives office in Tasmania. http://www.archives.tas.gov.au/ Go to Name Indexes in left hand column. Then Tasmanian Convicts, it gives you a list of all Convicts that came to Tasmania. After 1804, Those who were sent to Australia in the 1700's and early 1800's are under New South Wales. A lot were sent to Norfolk Island, of those sent there some came to Van Diemans Land, Which was renamed Tasmania in the 1850's The rest were dispersed throughout Australia. There is a number beside the convicts name, some will give you reference numbers for the reels of film that can be looked up in the Tasmanian Archives. This is an ongoing project of the Archives office. If you cannot find a reference number for your convict. Please let me know as I can look it up for you.
