    1. Re: [YORKSHIRE] Thomas Roberts LEWIS, Baptist Minister
    2. I have managed to obtain an obituary for Thomas Roberts LEWIS (published in the Baptist Union Handbook 1923).? It tells me that he was a Baptist minister at Scapegoat Hill, Huddersfield, for 8 years from August 1889.? He was later minister at Elland Edge, Ossett & Primrose Hill, all in the Huddersfield area.? He returned to Scapegoat Hill for the last 6 years of his life. It appears that he had only two children, Marianne (who became Mrs Harold POGSON), and James Roberts Lewis. Would be interested in contacting any descendants of these LEWISES. It's always a good idea when introducing yourself to state what you have discovered already and what further information you seek, otherwise in trying to help you we may be covering ground you have already done and duplicating efforts unnecessarily. For instance, have you found his marriage, his birth, etc, who his parents were, have you found him in other censuses before 1901? I don't think you mean that he died in 1862, either, do you! -- Roy Stockdill Editor, Journal of One-Name Studies Guild of One-Name Studies website: www.one-name.org Newbies' Guide to Genealogy & Family History: www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."
