As you say, no obvious link, but I'll do some more research on a possible connection with your WALKERs in Evenswood in the 1790's, and get back to you. Hopefully my Samuel (senior) might be related to your William (b1797) and his children. It seems worthy of further thought that your William WALKER (b1797) married Catherine in 1818, but that no children appeared (other than Margaret?) until Mary in 1825...... And as I understand it, there were not that many WALKER's in Durham at that time...... And as you say, Evenswood is not far from East Rainton..... I need to do more work on this, methinks......
