    3. Hi Joyce, It happens. My grandmother's full name was Rachael Beatrice Maud ELFORD and grandfather's name was John William RICHARDSON. Their marriage certificate shows : Beatrice Maud Elford marrying George John Richardson. Grandad was always known as George and Beatrice dropped the Rachael sometime before she married.
