Dear Listeners, I have recently bought the Cassini Old Series map of York & Selby 105 (1858). It shows Upper and Nether Poppleton north west of York, however the scale is 1:50 000 which is slightly too small to make out the buildings in the village. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions of a larger scale map of the area. I have been to see the TITHE map at the Borthwick Institute (William Paver 1856 ref: MAPS/68) that is ten feet to one mile which is slightly too big!!! Any help would be much appreciated.
