    1. [YORKSHIRE] Dade registers and BTs

    3. I'm lucky enough to have some ancestors who lived in parishes with Dade registers and I'm planning a trip to the Hyde Park FHC on Friday to look at them. They've got most of the ones I'm interested in, but for Haxby they only have the Bishop's Transcripts for the relevant period, not the actual parish register transcripts. My question is, will the BTs just contain the bare minimum information that we see in standard PRs of the time, or will all the additional information from the Dade register have been repeated for the bishop, such as mother's maiden name, grandparents' details, occupations, order (eg "2nd son of") etc. Thanks Kim --------------------------------- Yahoo! In practice, of course, they weren't always because they were sometimes written by a different person to the incumbent. However, fingers crossed, the information should hopefully be the same! -- Roy Stockdill Editor, Journal of One-Name Studies Guild of One-Name Studies website: www.one-name.org Newbies' Guide to Genealogy & Family History: www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about." I should have enough to keep me busy for the day even if the finger-crossing doesn't work, and I'll order the remaining films for next time. --------------------------------- Yahoo!
