Hi Gillian Firstly.........did you check the freebmd site for a marriage? I did and found this one: Frederick FROST married Mary Jane CAWKWELL - Mar Qtr 1894 - Hull - 9d - 364. Secondly......Frederick is aged 27 on the 1901 census, which makes his approx year of birth 1874, not 1877, so this may be why you can not find him in earlier census records. If you get the above marriage certificate, it should say what his father's name is. Thirdly.......There is no Gertrude FROST listed on the 1901 Census with Frederick, Mary J, Edgar, Francis and Allan.......but there is a Charles CAWKWELL, Visitor, which tells me that he is actually related to Mary J, and the above marriage is correct. If you still can not find them on earlier census records, repost and I will try and help you find them. Hi Wendy I did wonder about Mary Jane Cawkwell, could you tell me whether Tunstall is anywhere near Fitling. Those on the 1901 census Edgar, Gertrude, Francis, and Allan is the children. I am still finding the parents of Frederick and Mary Jane.
