You will have to trace back as far as you can in US and then go to the 1841 Census in England. You will then see all the Ridsdales left behind in Yorkshire. They all seem to live in a small area of Yorkshire between the small market town of Wetherby and the large town of Harrogate. There are very few Ridsdales anywhere else in 1841. A map of Yorkshire would help you see where they all lived. Get back to me if you need any more help later, or any Geography help.
