From: "mvs" <mvs5@westnet.com.au> > Hello List > > Would someone kindly look for a marriage for : > > DRURY Joseph of Stockton b: about 1832 > > Thanks > > Marcelle - Western Australia> FreeBMD has the marriages of THIRTY Joseph Drurys from 1853 to 1880, any one of which presumably might be him. Of course, many of these are in registration districts far away from the north-east but you give no clue as to what his work was, for instance, which might be a reason for him marrying far from home - if, say, he was a mariner. The fact you say he was born about 1832 is barely a clue at all, since many early marriage certificates (and later) say merely that the parties were "of full age". Honestly I am not trying to "get" at you, but it really would be helpful if you told us what you had done already to find this marriage and gave more information about Joseph Drury - such as, have you found him in censuses, for instance? You really cannot expect us to spend a lot of time looking for a needle in a haystack with such a paucity of information. -- Roy Stockdill Guild of One-Name Studies: www.one-name.org Newbies' Guide to Genealogy & Family History: www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."
