Dear Listners, I am interested in Millicent BEASTALL b c. 1890 in Doncaster. Her Father was Francis BEASTALL b c. 1852 in Doncaster and her Mother was Emily TILLY b c. 1857 York. She married Harold Hawkin at Thickham Parish Church 25 Feb 1916. Harold joined the Canadian Army and fought in WW1 in France where he was killed. I have the following info about his death: Hawkin, Harold Sapper A/4112, 3rd Tunnelling Coy., Canadian Engineers. Died 18th June 1918. Aged 32. Son of John Horsley and Anne Hawkin, of York; husband of Millicent Hawkin, of 4, Langdale Rd., Scarborough. Buried Terlincthun British Cemetery, Wimille, Pas de Calais, France, I. A. 33. Commemorated on the St Paul’s Church War Memorial, Holgate and in The King’s Book. Does anyone know what happened to Millicent after this? Did she go out to Canada and join her brother-in-law Donald Hawkin?
