Perhaps I'm just not accustomed to what everyone seems to be calling "Yorkshire directness" so I'm offering the olive branch to you. Hi Marcelle Perhaps, to a certain extent, it is the difference between the way of speaking in two countries. We are still rather polite and correct over here but I notice that some of the people from your country have a different attitude and way with requests. We say a lot of 'please' and 'thank you' when requesting look ups. Britain is a big place and sometimes there is a dearth of surnames to look at. If you put your request more politely instead of seeming to demand a look up, then I think you will fare much better. Ask where you could look for it always helps and say as much as you know. BTW Roy is one of England's top Genealogists with a firm belief that people should try and look things up for themselves. If you can get his help you are very lucky.
