You should be able to find him on either www.freebmd.org.uk or on www.ancestry.co.uk which has the full GRO indexes available free of charge. make sure you click on the "complete" GRo listings from 1837 to 2005 rather than the slightly out of date version of FreeBMD. www.familyrelatives.com also have the GRO indexes and they are indexed from 1866 to 1920.

    3. I posted earlier a complete list of all the Joseph Drurys found at FreeBMD who married between 1853 (when your Joseph would have been approx 21) and 1880. There were thirty of them. I posted it under a different thread headed "Joseph Drurys for Marcelle". I gave every single Joseph Drury married between those dates, the registration district, volume and page numbers. Would you like me to repeat it and save you the bother of finding them yourself? -- Roy Stockdill Guild of One-Name Studies: www.one-name.org Newbies' Guide to Genealogy & Family History: www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about." 3. Hi list, At risk of anybody's displeasure, I love a Yorkshire man that bats with a straight bat, Roy is a great help to the list and yes he can be a little direct but isn't that a good Yorkshire trait. Always willing to learn even with the stick rather than the carrot. Garry. Roy wrote, At risk of incurring your displeasure once more, I feel bound to ask why you cannot do this yourself? You have precisely the same tools and sources at your disposal as we have, i.e. FreeBMD and the GRO Indexes at several websites like Ancestry, Findmypast etc. It might help if you gave even a hint of a likely date or place. Or are you saying you have tried to find the marriage for yourself and failed, in which case you are asking for others to try their luck? In which case, why not say so? I wonder how many Joseph Drurys there were born about 1832 at Stockton who could have married anywhere in the country (or outside it)?
