Greetings to all the listers I would appreciate help with the following place name. On the 1861 census the place born for this particular ancestor I am researching says he was born in Low Moor. Where would this be please? Many thanks Pauline [email protected]

Hi Pauline There are three places called Low Moor(s) listed on the Genuki "Where is it in Yorkshire?" pages. The one near Bradford another at Osmotherly and Low Moors at Kirby Misperton. However, there are many other places called Low Moor. Funnily enough, I just came across another I didn't know about, close to Kirkby Overblow, which is near Harrogate. A farmstead close to where I live, in North Yorkshire, is called Low Moor. I know there are several others. Can you give any clues to help locate the right area? Where was he when he said his birthplace was Low Moor? Where were other family members born? Regards Janice Wood
