I think it is Ravensworth (or Kirkby Ravensworth in full?) where my family (Coates and Fenwick etc.) come from. It is near Richmond. The earlier entry states "Ravenswood, Yorkshire, England" while the second states "Richmond, Yorkshire, England". I've tried squinting hard and I still can't make the first Yorkshire look like Berkshire. So, is there somewhere near Richmond that might sound like Ravenswood. Do the folks from there have a strong accent perhaps? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
