For many years Dr Malvin was Medical Officer of the Scarborough Union, and relinquishing this office he retired to Newby. His earliest association with Scarborough was as Medical Officer during the building of the Scarborough and Whitby Railway. He had a large general practice and covered a wide Country area. This entailed much road work which the Doctor, being a keen lover of horses, covered on horseback. He held high office in Free Masonry. The funeral will take place at Scalby on Thurday afternoon. >From the Scarborough Evening News Wed June 10th 1942 Malvin - June 8th, at Moor Lane, Newby, Scarborough, Mark, M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. Funeral Scalby, Thursday, 2.30p.m. No mourning.
