Hopefully, the OP and others who post such fatuous messages will pay attention! As a matter of interest, I checked the name Denning with Surname Atlas (which draws instant surname distribution maps from the 1881 census data) and found there were a total of 1159 entries, 101 of them in Yorkshire - 89 in the West Riding, 10 in the North Riding and just two in the East Riding. By far the largest number, 47, were in Bradford. As you rightly point out, the OP would get far more sensible replies if he/she had actually given some names, dates and places. I congratulate you on your message and only wish more Listowners would take a similar approach. -- Roy Stockdill Professional genealogical researcher, writer & lecturer Newbies' Guide to Genealogy & Family History: www.genuki.org.uk/gs/Newbie.html "There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."
