    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: steveandkelleymasters Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.england.yks.general/15413/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am after some advice on where to take some of my research. Have recently been looking into my great great grandfathers brother Benjamin Belt born in Hull in 1861. I found him on the 1891 census as a prisoner in yorkshire and then in the 1901 census as a pauper in the Hull Lunatic Asylum. My question is where to go next to put bones on his story. I have tried to find a death record but to no avail and he doesnt appear on the 1911 census. Where do i go to find out what happened to him and why he was in the asylum? Would there be newspaper reports on his trial somewhere? I am new to family history research so any advice would be greatly appreciated. 3. Have you tried contacting the National Health Service to see if they hold records for the Hull Lunatic Asylum in the early 1900's? I had an ancestor who was in the Riccartsbar Lunatic Asylum in Paisley, Scotland from 1870's thru 1922 and when I contacts the NHS in Glasgow they located records and sent me a great deal of information. It would be worth a try to contact the NHS and see if they can help you.
