I would advise that you kee[p an open mind on this. As I have a siilar problem with-in my own family, but recent enough for me to be aware of the family situation and circumstances of the time. Not to confuse by given names; I'll just give the details. My father married 2ndly. Beatrice Hargreaves born 1893 Preston Lancs. She had my half brother, and died from T.B. My mother was the main carer of her cousin, the child of Beatrice & my father, being involved with the family, my mum became his 3rd. wife, going on to have other childre. It sounds complicated; but not when put into perspective of the times. My mum was the niece of Beatrice, and cousin to her child, She became the 3rd. wife and mother of the later children. This makes Beatrice's parents my gt.gr.parents, but to my half brother they were his gr. parents. It's the same ancestral decent on 2 branches, mine and my half brothers. Although my half brother is the same generation on that branch as my mum. A situation brought about by family need, for a child that needed looking after. After the death of his mother.
