Our grandfather was Charles Frances. born 1870 in Scranton, PA. His wife was Kathryn Fleming, born in Emerald, WI. Our aunt Babe (Susan Antoinette Easbey Vikse), who just became a widow July 6th, 2009 when her husband, Sigurd Vikse, passed away, has a lot of information on the Fleming family but really nothing on the Easbey family. Trying to find information on the father of Charles Frances has been a real problem for me as all I've found on census records is that he was born in England. Since there are so very many Easby's (without the "e") in Yorkshire I've always surmised the family came from there. So you have any information on our great grandfather Easbey (or Easby). Charles Frances was a rebel of sorts, I believe, and my father, Charles Samuel, never wanted to find out anything as he always said that his father (Charles Frances) ra! n away from home and hitched a ride on railroad cars to Montana when he was about 18 or 19. At least that is the story my dad always told us kids. I am intriqued by it though and have always wanted to find our family roots somewhere back in England. If you have found out more please do let me know. Thanks so much. Virginia Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
