In the same household there is a widow named Ann Deighton b 1795 Carthorpe, Yorkshire employed as a House Servant. Obviously one can't assume this is his mother but it is a possiblity. I have also found her on the 1841 census at Yafforth Grange, Danby Wiske as a Female Servant also in the household is a Thomas Deighton b 1816 Yorkshire an agricultural labourer who may/may not be her son.
