    3. Hi Listers, I'm a newcomer to this list but a long time subscriber to other lists. The Revd James TRIPP was the Rector of All Saints church in Spofforth in the early 1840s - he was born in Petworth Sussex abt 1788. I have been unable to find out much about his early life but think he came from a wealthy family - possibly third son - as there is a Tripps Hill is close to Petworth. I know he 'rebuilt' All Saints Church (1847) without permission and left 16,000. pounds when he died in 1892 and is mentioned in Burke's Peerage as one of his daughters married a Baronet. Any more information about him would be appreciated. Thanks Gill in Canada
