I can't find the parents' marriage, or the kids' baptisms. I've got a possible baptism for William, 07 Feb 1773 @ Abingdon (son of Henry & Elizabeth Fisher); this is the only William Fisher in Abingdon within 10 years of the dates you gave me! And I'm not convinced it's your William as there is a William Henry Fisher born to William Fisher in 1838 and the mother's name is given as Elizabeth, which doesn't match at all. I've also scoured the Tickhill records and Elizabeth's baptism is nowhere to be found. Is it possible they weren't CofE? that would explain why church records are proving so difficult to find... Also, is it possible that Rebecca was a second wife, and that the children have a different mother? Of course if we could find the parish records of the baptisms that would answer that question; but it could explain why there doesn't seem to be a record of their marriage.
