I'm not actually local to the area at all, so I googled Eastby and got a little town near Skipton. However, when I looked on Genuki Eastby doesn't exist as an independent parish, nor is it listed on the IGI. A possibility is looking in the Skipton or Bolton Abbey records as they were the nearest, however in parish records I find the reference to where a person is 'from' usually relates to their parish, not necessarily their town, and the only parish I can find with a similar name is Easby, just outside Richmond.
